American singer, theatre and film actress, closely associated with the disco era. She is most famous for her 1976 hit, Turn The Beat Around. b. May 31, 1954 in Harlem, New York. d. April 27, 2000 in Wilton, Connecticut. She was the daughter of African-American Shakespearean actor, Bill Robinson, and the Caucasian folk singer, Jolly Robinson. She was part black, white and native American. Unfortunately Vicki died in her home in Wilton, Connecticut on April 27, 2000 due to a struggle against cancer. She was only 45 years old when she passed.
